The Breast and Gynecological Cancer International Conference 2024 (BGCC Kinshasa 2024) is a two-day educational event with presentations focused on innovations and best clinical practices for several cancer disease sites. Hosted by the Congo Cancer Foundation (CCF) for oncology professionals in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Africa by international and local key opinion leaders, the Conference will put into context the most significant advances in the diagnosis and management of breast cancer and gynecological cancers including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, vulval cancer, as well as human papillomavirus and related-diseases.

Pre-CONFERENCE COURSE:

ASCO MULTIDISCIPLINARY CERVICAL CANCER MANAGEMENT COURSE (MCMC)

In an effort to help health care workers in low- and middle-income countries make treatment decisions, the Ameican Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has released resource-stratified guidelines in the treatment of invasive cervical cancer, and the primary and secondary prevention of cervical cancer.  Based on these guidelines, ASCO is developing a course to improve the delivery of cervical cancer services to women in LMICs in collaboration with Congo Cancer Foundation. ASCO provides staff support for the organization of the Course to include a formal needs assessment, evaluation, and impact assessment one year after the course is held.

Day 1 – Tuesday, 2 July 2024: Prevention and Screening.                                                    

Day 2 – Wednesday, 3 July 2024: Workup, Diagnosis, and General Principles for Management of Cervical Cancer                       

Day 3 – Thursday, 4 July 2024: Multidisciplinary Management of Cervical Cancer in Special Scenarios and Palliative Care

Health and Safety Policy

It is each participant’s responsibility to check and comply with the latest health and travel regulations to ensure a smooth and safe journey from the Country of origin to the event venue, and back.

During the event, CCF will apply health and safety protocols according to the latest local authority guidelines and regulations.

In general, CCF recommends:

  • to apply health precautions and measures according to formal guidance and personal medical history
  • to stay up to date with the vaccination status
  • to perform a Rapid Antigen Test and wear a mask in case of symptoms.

Hand sanitizers will be available throughout the venue; the use of mask is at own discretion in the absence of symptoms.

CCF and the Organizers bears no responsibility for any untoward events in connection with, before, during and after the meeting. Participants are strongly advised to take out their own personal and travel coverage.
